The doctoral programme for young Ukrainian researchers, which is part of “Leizpig – Chance for Science” digital teaching project commenced on August, 25, 2022. Currently, the project supports a total of 24 doctoral students from our Ukrainian partner universities; Donetsk National Technical University, Sumy State University and V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, mainly from the disciplines of Economics, Social Sciences and Engineering.
At the Zoom kick-off event, the project leaders and doctoral researchers got to know each other in an open atmosphere. In addition to the project presentation made by Prof. Dr. Roland Happ, the doctoral students were able to communicate their feedback and expectations of the programme and the subject-specific offerings for the doctoral workshops. An online board was created for this purpose (see figure above). Throughout the programme, PhD students will have the opportunity to present and discuss their doctoral projects with an expert audience at the upcoming Chance for Science digital conference on September, 8 and 9, 2022. Up until December 2022, the doctoral students will also be offered courses on scientific work and writing, a paper development workshop, strategies for literature research and overviews of research methods.
